All energy is the same but it is understood by describing it according to the way it works. Energy cannot be created or destroyed but it can be transformed into something else. The amount of energy in the universe today is exactly the same as it was when the  universe began. In all that time energy has been passed from one object to another making some go faster or become hotter and some go slower and become colder. Kinetic Energy is this energy of object in motion A nothing river or a spinning tornado are good example of kinetic energy.
