The Sun Part 1 page 15

We shall naturally look first at

the sun then at the sun's family 

of planets of which our earth is a member.

The family is called the solar system from the 

Latin word solus for sun. Throughout all centuries 

up until man first released atomic energy in the 1940 the sun has been earth's  only

power plants. All the usable energy on

earth has come from the sun.
