roads are made of water.
Canals a canal is straight 
and narrow like some roads.
But it is filled water like a
river. 
Canals are really water 
roads which are dug
by join together river
or lake or ocean so
that boat can go from
one the order.  
In addition, On the
canal or the boat often
have to be pulled along
In older days horse and mule
walking on a towpath beside
a canal pulled the boat. 
Today the boat are  often
pulled by electric loomotives 
sometime the loomotive 
are called electric mules.

THESE PEOPLE LIVE WHERE KANGAROOS AND LIZARDS 

and enormous birds called emus live. They are
very good hunters. They catch animals and birds forfood. They also eat insects that they find under rocks. They are among the few remaining primitive peoples of the world. Where 
are they and why are they? 
They are in Australia sometimes called
the land down under. The people are called
aborigines. They were here before anyone
else came to Australia. Most of  the other
people in Australia live in large or small 
cities very much like the ones we know.
Some Australian families live on cattle
or sheep ranches because these 
ranches are so far from town the
children go to school by listening
and talking to their  teachers on 
two-way radios. And if is sick
the doctor comes to visit
in an airplane. There are 
still miles and miles
of unsettled land on 
this continent Australia.
