If there was one thing Anne did not like about herself it was her red hair. I hate you she screamed at Mrs Lynde How dare you call me ugly? You are a rude unfeeling woman. In addition, Anne exclaimed Marilla. How would  you feel if I said that you were fat and clumsy and hadn't a spark of imagination in you? Anne asked Mrs Lynde in a fury. I hope I've hurt your feelings by saying so. You have hurt mine and I'll never forgive you for it never! Anne go to your room! Marilla commanded. Anne burst into tears and rushed upstairs. Well Mrs. Lynde said, I don't envy you bringing up a child like that. You shouldn't have made fun of her looks. Marilla said as much to her surprise as to Mrs Lynde's. She knew that what Anne had done was wrong, but she could not help but agree with some of what the child had said. After Mrs Lynde had gone home.
