Books shelves upon of them lined the wall interspersed now and then by the grimacing carved ebony masks. The Benin broanes were propriety displayed in the adjoining sitting room, and the three foot high blood encrusted and nail studded idol, Muvungu  held pride of place in the front entry hall.
